All About CPS
By DoomSoaker
CPS or Constant Pressure System is the best type of water pressure in soakers available. What makes is so good? First lets see how it's different from air pressure.

CPS and Air Pressure Difference

Air Pressure soakers work by pumping air into water. This can be best shown after you drank most of your Capri Sun, but a bit was left and you blew into it. What came out? That liquid did.

CPS pressure works by pumping water into a balloon. Now back to another Capri Sun example. You take a full Capri Sun an insert the straw into it. Then, you slam it with your fist. What happens? The liquid shoots out much farther than when you blew into it. Sometimes the straw even comes out. That's how CPS works. When the balloon collapses, the water will shoot out.

OK, now you know how it's different, but you want proof of this difference.

CPS versus Air Pressure

Get a CPS type blaster and a Max-D or XP type blaster. Fill both up to full, and pump until full. Set up both so that the nozzles of each are right next to each other. Fire both at the same time. What happens? The CPS type blaster's range will stay pretty much the same, while the Air Pressure one will drop slowly, but steadily. This is just proof that CPS blasters really do keep everything more "constant".

Types of CPS

There are 2 types of CPS pressure: Piston and Bladder. Bladder is the one in most CPS class blasters.

Spherical

Bladder CPS pressure uses a thick balloon to force the water out of the nozzle. The thicker the balloon, the more force the soaker will exert. That is why the 12000 type mods work.

Piston

Piston type CPS pressure is what soakers such as the CPS 2000, CPS 3000, CPS 2500 and CPS 3200 use. Piston type pressure has a cylindrical bladder. The stronger the bladder, the more force it will exert. This is how the Collosus mod works.
